Virgin Media’s video games pop-up space on Shoreditch’s Leonard Street is going strong in its fourth week and showcasing a great range of cutting-edge and highly unusual gaming tech, from the much-anticipated Oculus Rift virtual reality headset (possibly your only chance to try it out before general release) to a vintage leather briefcase with arcade buttons and a phone handset retro-fitted and inviting the player to crack it open (we couldn’t work it out).
Sam’s Game: Command Control
This week’s theme is arcade games, and we’re glowing with pride because our very own Sam Billingham has his devilishly difficult Command Control featured in one of the main spots. Three players must co-operate, using the custom mechanical controls, to keep your spaceship moving. The game relies as much on well-timed and clear communication between the players as dexterity on the sliders, switches and knobs that control your ship. Grab two mates and get down there! The space is only open until this weekend!
