Facebook have recently announced their “Year In Review For 2013“, which took a glance at the most talked about topics, top life events and places been for the past year across Facebook. Whether it was announcing an engagement, discussing breaking news, or even celebrating a favourite athlete or sports team, it was all tracked and compiled into top 10 lists.
Globally Pope Francis and The Election were the most talked about, while the madness that filled our feeds for months with Miley Cyrus twerking and The Harlem Shake, came in at 6 and 7 respectively, all illustrated below.
For the USA, The Super Bowl, Government shutdown and of course the Boston Marathon dominated the top discussions, as well as more global conversations including Nelson Mandela, Royal Baby and Syria.
In the UK things were fairly different with Andy Murray and the passing of Margaret Thatcher taking top honours. The rest of the top 10 focused more on sport and video games – good to see we have our priorities right!
Facebook created the following video that gives a synopsis of all the big things that happened over the past year. You can also look at your own year in review via this little app, which allows you to share your 20 biggest moments with your friends.
